Former Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu, has reaffirmed his unwavering support for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), urging members to remain loyal and dedicated to reclaiming power in the 2027 elections.
Addressing PDP supporters from Abia South at his Umuobiakwa country home, Ikpeazu dismissed speculations of his defection, vowing to work tirelessly to restore the party’s dominance despite recent defections.
He called on party members to stay resolute during the party’s challenging phase, assuring them of his continued commitment to the PDP, which he credited for shaping his political career.

Speaking on the wave of defections following the PDP’s loss to the Labour Party in the 2023 elections, Ikpeazu encouraged party faithful in Obingwa and across the state to remain focused and not be discouraged by those leaving.
Acknowledging the party’s current struggles, he reassured members that better days lay ahead and that those who remained steadfast would reap the benefits when the party regains strength.
Ikpeazu also praised the newly elected State Working Committee led by Abraham Amah, expressing confidence in his leadership and describing him as the right man to steer the party back to power in 2027.
