Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke, has debunked reports suggesting he is planning to defect from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC), describing the rumours as baseless and politically motivated.
Adeleke made the declaration on Wednesday during a meeting with leaders of the Osun State chapter of the PDP, held at the Banquet Hall of the Government House in Osogbo.
Reacting to the speculations circulating on social media and other platforms, the governor reaffirmed his loyalty to the PDP and assured party members of his continued commitment to the party’s ideals and leadership.

“My people, party elders and chiefs, I declare before you today that I am not defecting to APC or any other political party,” Adeleke stated.
“I remain in PDP. Ignore any fake news.”
He attributed the defection rumours to individuals who feel threatened by the progress recorded in Osun State under his administration.
According to media, the meeting was attended by top PDP stakeholders in the state, with former Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola participating virtually.
Adeleke’s statement comes amid growing political tension and realignment ahead of the next electoral cycle.
