The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced the publication of the personal particulars of candidates and their running mates for the forthcoming governorship election in Osun State.
In a statement issued on Sunday by Musa Olurode, Osun INEC Public Affairs Officer, on behalf of the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Dr. Mutiu Agboke, the commission confirmed that 14 political parties successfully uploaded the names and required documents of their candidates within the stipulated timeframe.

According to the statement, the submissions followed the conclusion of party primaries and the closure of the designated portal for uploading candidates’ particulars.
The compliant political parties listed by INEC are A, AA, AAC, ADC, ADP, APGA, APC, APM, APP, BP, NNPP, PRP, YPP and ZLP.
The commission stated that the list of candidates was released by its headquarters in Abuja after verifying compliance with constitutional and regulatory requirements.
INEC noted that the publication was in line with Section 29(3) of the Electoral Act 2022 and Item 4 of the Timetable and Schedule of Activities for the Osun State Governorship Election.
It added that copies of each candidate’s Form EC9, along with their academic credentials and other supporting documents, would be displayed at the commission’s state office and across its 30 local government area offices, as well as the area office in the state.
The documents will be available for public inspection from Monday, February 16, 2026.
“The Commission hereby notifies political parties and the general public that fourteen political parties have successfully complied with the requirements within the stipulated timeframe,” the statement said.
INEC advised political parties, candidates and members of the public to inspect the published documents as provided by law.
The commission clarified that only the 14 listed political parties would participate in the forthcoming governorship election, having met the necessary conditions within the prescribed period.
Meanwhile, Agboke reassured stakeholders of the commission’s commitment to transparency and professionalism.
“The Commission remains firmly committed to the conduct of credible elections in accordance with the law and best democratic practices,” he said.
