Barcelona defender Jules Kounde has tipped Lamine Yamal to win the Ballon d’Or award ahead of Ousmane Dembele. He recently admitted that he wants to win the Champions League this season, and fans have been reacting.
Speaking to the press, he revealed that it’ll be hard to choose a Ballon d’Or winner between Yamal and Dembele because they are both his teammates.
According to him, however, while several players had amazing seasons in the previous campaign, he believes Yamal deserves to win the prestigious award.
“You’re putting me in a difficult position, but I’m going to be modest in saying that he deserves it, yes, he does.
It’s also true that there are other players who have had a good season,” he said.
Kounde further noted that he wants to win the UEFA Champions League with Barcelona this season.
He concluded by saying that the UCL being the ultimate goal is only normal after the season Barcelona just had.
“Every time we start the season, we set goals, and when you’re at Barca, and with the team we have and the season we had last year, the Champions League should be the goal, but it’s not an obsession,” he added.
