Popular rapper and YBNL CEO, Olamide, has opened up on life as a music executive. He recently revealed that being an artist himself helps him to understand artists signed to his label.
Speaking during an interview with Korty Eo, the “E Ni Duro” crooner said that it is very easy to be a music executive to his signees because he is an artist like them.

According to him, as a musician, he fully understands the needs of a creative, hence why it is not difficult for him to relate to the pain, joy, struggles and limitations of his artists.
He stated that dealing with creatives as an executive is pretty straightforward since he has experienced both worlds.
“It’s way much easier for me being a music executive than an artist because I’m an artist. So I’ve an understanding of the needs of creatives.
I know the way we think, I know the way we see things. I know when we are in an element and I know when we want to run mad.
And I know when we are getting high on our supply. I know when we are getting high on the fame, life, money and success.
So, it’s easier for me to deal with creatives. I try not to bite more than I can chew,” he said.
The famous lyricist noted that he doesn’t like being referred to as a rapper, stressing that no one should try to box his creativity.
Olamide concluded by saying that starting out as a rapper doesn’t mean he can’t be a singer as well.
“You can’t box me and call me a rapper— I love music,” he added.
