Ivan Perisic and Nemanja Matic fit the bill as the two additional signings Jose Mourinho wants for Manchester United, but landing either is proving to be increasingly problematic.
Eager to keep hold of Perisic, Inter Milan appear to be creating roadblocks to delay the deal, with the latest being a request to include Anthony Martial as part of any transfer.
Inter have asked for €20 million plus Martial for Perisic, while the Telegraph reports the France international is wanted on loan. The situation could be resolved by United meeting Perisic’s reported £49 million asking price, but time is running out with Inter flying to China on Tuesday for their preseason tour.
Meanwhile, Matic, who has been training alone, looks certain to leave Chelsea this summer, but if the midfielder wants a move to United, he might have to push for it. The Independent reports that Mourinho has asked for either Eric Dier from Tottenham or £40m-rated Matic.
