J.Cole has announced that he will be joined by special guests Anderson .Paak, Bas, J.I.D. and Ari Lennox on some special stops on his North American leg of the 4 Your Eyez Only world tour. With Cole’s 4 Your Eyez Only having debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart (dated Dec. 31), and all ten of its tracks hitting the Billboard Hot 100 chart, this is sure to be one of the most anticipated tours of the year.
The multi-platinum selling artist has been on the road in North America since early June, and will begin to dive into some larger Live Nation venues in the U.S. and U.K. on July 6th. The tour is making stops throughout Europe, as well as Australia and New Zealand.
Cole is keeping it in the family with Bas, J.I.D. and Ari Lennox, all members of the rapper’s own Dreamville Records. Bas made a name for himself with his mixtapes Quarter Water Raised Me and Quarter Water Raised Me II, and featured Cole on “Night Job,” a track off his Billboard 200-charting 2016 album Too High to Riot. Bas told Billboard last spring that “Cole has given [him] an incredible platform. It’s just so crucial for any artist trying to make it.”
Eclectic east Atlanta rapper J.I.D recently released his first album The Never Story, after the success of his EP DiCaprio in 2016. As the 7th addition to the Dreamville team, J.I.D. is not shy about his ambition, and is up for some friendly competition within the label, even saying, “I’m literally trying to be the best at everything. Like I’m going at Cole’s neck and everybody else. And I love Cole!”
About a year after the release of her soulful EP PHO, Ari Lennox will also join the tour, adding a powerful female voice to the mix. Last but certainly not least, hip-hop fusion star, Anderson .Paak will join the group eight stops in at the Key Arena in Seattle on July 18th. .Paak’s highly anticipated second solo album Malibu was widely critically acclaimed and was named one the the Billboard staff’s top 10 albums of 2016.
