A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State, Olajide Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, has declared that his victory in the 2027 governorship election would be a “walkover” if he secures the backing of President Bola Tinubu and the ruling party.
Jandor, who was the 2023 governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) before defecting to the APC, made the declaration on Thursday during an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today.
He expressed confidence that with the support of the president and the APC structure in Lagos, his chances of emerging victorious would be unassailable.

“You cannot imagine what is going to happen this time if I have the solid backing of Mr. President and the party in Lagos State. It will be a walkover,” Jandor said.
He, however, emphasized his respect for other party members, noting that he would support whoever emerges as the party’s candidate if he is not chosen.
“I mean it with no disrespect to anybody. Whoever the party decides to pick, all of us will follow and campaign for,” he added.
Reflecting on his previous political moves, Jandor revealed that his defection and strategy during the 2021–2022 period were calculated steps, adding that members of the APC are disciplined and not inclined toward anti-party activities.
“You know, I played a smart one in 2021, 2022, when we were in the party. Because I know we’re not wired to doing anti-party. Once the party presents anybody, all of us will fall in line,” he stated.
