The government of Jigawa state has said that it will implement efforts to ease the hardships caused by the elimination of the fuel subsidy.
This was one of the conclusions that were shared with the press by State Commissioner of Information, Youth, Sport, and Culture Sagir Musa Ahmed on Wednesday night after a meeting of the state executive council.
The state executive council, he said, had authorized the acquisition of five rice trucks, a program to empower 1,500 young entrepreneurs, and aid for 1,000 SMEs.

He said that in addition to the five trucks of rice given to the state by the Federal Government, the Executive Council had approved the purchase of an additional five trucks of rice at a cost of N134,665,000.00.
For 1,500 young business owners in 27 local government areas, council has evaluated and approved an additional empowerment program.
The J-Cares Programme would provide N100,000 in funding to help 1,000 SMEs, and that was authorized by the state executive council.
According to Ahmed, the administration has established a committee to disperse comfort measures.
He gave the people of the state his word that the government would do what it could to ease their lives.
