Senator Abdulhamid Malam Madori (APC–Jigawa North East) has declared that the governorship seat in Jigawa State is not up for grabs in the 2027 general elections, urging political aspirants across all parties to drop their ambitions in favour of incumbent Governor Umar Namadi.
Speaking at a Citizens and Government Engagement Programme held in Birniwa Local Government Area, the senator praised Governor Namadi’s first-term performance, stating that it has earned him the right to seek re-election.
“Let the governorship hopefuls in our great party, the APC, and other parties shelve their plans because Governor Namadi has done well and deserves a second term in 2027,” Madori said.

He called on both members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and opposition parties to unite behind the governor, stressing that Namadi’s developmental strides and good governance within a short period in office have won the confidence of the people.
“The present Governor, Umar Namadi, has done well in his first tenure. Therefore, there is no need for anybody to think of challenging him in the 2027 election,” he added.
Madori further emphasized the importance of prioritizing state development over personal political ambitions, urging politicians to support continuity for the sake of sustained progress.
“Governor Namadi deserves to serve his second term come 2027 because of his outstanding performance,” he stated.
The endorsement by Senator Madori adds to growing calls within the APC for Governor Namadi’s re-election, as the party begins to position itself ahead of the next electoral cycle.
