The Kaduna State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has raised concern over what it described as the neglect of state-owned tertiary institutions by the administration of Governor Uba Sani.
The party expressed worry following the warning strike embarked upon by staff unions across several state-owned institutions, including Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic, Kaduna State College of Education, Kaduna State College of Nursing, and Shehu Idris College of Health Technology.
The industrial action is reportedly in protest against poor working conditions and dilapidated infrastructure.

In a statement issued on Thursday by the PDP State Chairman, Edward Percy Masha, the party lamented that the strike posed a serious threat to the academic calendar and the educational future of thousands of students in the state.
“We are deeply concerned that thousands of students are at risk of delayed graduation and traumatic experiences due to the government’s neglect of the education sector,” Masha stated.
He added that considering the substantial funds that had accrued to the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led government under Governor Uba Sani over the past two years, there was no excuse for the continued disregard of the state’s educational needs.
The PDP chairman reaffirmed the party’s solidarity with the striking workers and urged the government to initiate meaningful dialogue to address their demands, stressing that education is a fundamental right and that government has a responsibility to ensure a conducive environment for both teaching and learning.
“We sympathize with the lecturers and students affected and assure them of our unwavering commitment to ensuring a responsible and responsive government,” he said.
Masha also called on the people of Kaduna State to remain patient and retain faith in the PDP, promising that the party is working towards replacing what it termed as an “inept APC administration” through the electoral process for the betterment of the state.
