The Kano State police command has issued a stern warning regarding the upcoming planned rally by the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP).
In a telephone conversation with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday in Kano, the state Commissioner of Police, Mr Hussaini Gumel, emphasized the need for caution.
Gumel disclosed that the police command has initiated robust patrols in and around the city to ensure the maintenance of law and order.

He clarified that armed security personnel have been strategically deployed to critical areas in the state to counteract any potential security threats.
“As far as this command is concerned, we have not permitted the two major political parties to engage in any form of protest in our areas of supervision,” stated Commissioner Gumel.
He urged the public to proceed with their legal activities without fear of disturbance.
Commissioner Gumel assured that the police, in collaboration with sister security organizations, is committed to ensuring the security of lives and property in the state.
He further called on leaders of the APC and NNPP to adhere to the peace treaties they have previously endorsed.
In a cautionary note, Gumel advised parents to closely monitor their children’s movements, emphasizing that individuals found disrupting the peace would be detained and prosecuted.
The police’s proactive measures aim to maintain a secure environment in the lead-up to the planned political rally.
