
Kampala City Council Authority Football Club (KCCA) has successfully defended the FUFA Super league title following a 3-1 home win over arch-rivals Sports Club Villa at the KCCA Stadium in Lugogo on Tuesday.
Uganda Cranes international Steven Bengo opened the scoring for KCCA with a 21st minute strike before defender Ronnie Kisekka made it 2-0 just before the break. William Wadri made it three before Kiseeka deflected into his own net to give SC Villa a late consolation.
With the victory, KCCA accumulated 60 points from 30 games, one ahead of second placed Sports Club Victoria University. It is KCCS’s 10th Uganda top league title. KCCA’s championship returns them to next year’s CAF Champions League while SC Victoria University will represent Uganda in CAF Confederation s Cup.
KCCA coach George Nsimbe said he will now target to complete a double by winning the league cup whose final they are contesting against league runners-up SC Victoria University.
