Ahead of the election for governor on November 11, Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State has vowed to make certain that there is no record of any violence taking place during the ballot.
Both President Bola Tinubu and Abdullahi Ganduje, National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), were reassured by Bello that there will be no violent incidents during the poll.
Saturday, Bello made his remarks to APC supporters in Okene, where he was campaigning. He remarked, “From Kogi East to Kogi West to Kogi Central, today, I am in charge.”

“I am assuring you, Mr. President, and I am assuring you, our National Chairman, Your Excellency, Umar Abdullahi Ghandouje, that there will be no violence in Kogi State. I am assuring you of this.”
“The outcome is going to be completely in our favour. We have begun in the Kogi East region. You saw the multitude of people. You witnessed the mob [in] Kogi West, and today you’ll see it in Kogi Central.
“I am in charge here in the state of Kogi. In the name of Governor Yahaya Bello, also known as the White Lion, your Excellency, your son, your son who is faithful, your son who is dedicated, your son who has potential, I greet you.
“I am in charge here in the state of Kogi. The people of Kogi are not going to put up with anyone trying to shorten their language. We are going to proceed in the same manner as you did. Allow no one to cut it short. The APC was victorious in Kogi. It shouldn’t be shortened by anyone.”
