The Kogi State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Youth Frontier has rejected Mona Anyebe as the consensus chairmanship candidate of the party in the state.
In a statement signed by the President, Umar Francis, the group insisted that the chairman must emerge from among the interested candidates who were screened by the committee.
Francis stated, “Any individual who didn’t undergo this process cannot stand to benefit from it.”

He also highlighted that a petition was submitted to the state caretaker committee and the national headquarters of the party, with evidence showing that Mr. Mona Anyebe was suspended from his Ogugu Ward in Olamaboro Local Government for anti-party activities.
The petition was reportedly signed by all the ward executives.
Francis expressed concerns about the rejection of the elders committee report during the delegate meeting in Lokoja on April 29, 2024.
He emphasized that the PDP state chairman position is not something that can be given to an outsider who may not be mentally and physically equipped for the role, especially considering the testimony reports from Anyebe’s ward executives.
He concluded by urging the party leaders to ensure a level playing ground on the day of the election for party delegates to choose their next chairman in Kogi State.
