The Chairman of Kudan Local Government Area, Hon Dauda Ilya Abba, says the resignation of Hon Sanusi Magaji Kudan, ward chairman to the 2023 Kaduna State PDP governorship candidate, Alhaji Isa Ashiru, marks a major setback for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
In a statement issued on Sunday, Abba commended Magaji Kudan, popularly known as Mai Kwando, for what he described as “abandoning a sinking ship that is headed for the bottom of the sea politically.”
He hailed the move as “a bold step in the right direction in your effort to serve the people on a better and bigger platform,” urging the former PDP ward chairman to align with the All Progressives Congress (APC), which he said has been delivering positive impacts on the lives of constituents.

Abba cautioned the African Democratic Congress (ADC) against celebrating Magaji Kudan’s exit from the PDP, insisting: “This is not your catch. His true home is the APC, where he has always belonged.”
Extending a formal invitation, the LG chairman said: “I humbly invite Mai Kwando to come back home to the APC — the party of progress and hope. Your place is waiting, and together we will build a stronger Kudan LGA.”
Abba expressed confidence that with the current wave of defections from other parties to the APC across Kaduna State, Governor Uba Sani’s re-election bid in 2027 is “just a matter of time.”
He credited the governor’s rural transformation initiatives, human capital development programmes, and the completion of inherited projects as visible achievements across all 23 local government areas of the state.
