The Minister of Labour and Productivity, Emeka Wogu has urged the Radio, Television, Theatre and Arts Workers Union of Nigeria (RATTAWU) to suspend the industrial action proposed for Friday May 9, 2014.
Emeka Wogu explained that the Federal Government through the Federal Ministry of Labour and Productivity has scheduled an emergency meeting of relevant stakeholders in the media sector for Tuesday May 6, 2014. The meeting, he noted will hold at the Federal Ministry of Labour and Productivity to appraise previous mediations with a view to proffering lasting solutions to all the issues at stake.
The Labour Minister implored the executive and members of RATTAWU to suspend its planned warning strike in the interest of the nation; saying the Nigerian Government is committed to resolving all issues of concern to the Union and relevant stakeholders in the media industry.
