The National Women Leader, Deputy National Women Leader (South-South), and State Women Leaders of the Labour Party have reaffirmed their support for the Julius Abure-led leadership of the party.
The National Women Leader, Dudu Mamman Manuga, expressed the women leaders’ position during a virtual meeting convened to review recent developments affecting the party and to chart a way forward for 2026.

During the meeting, the women leaders extensively reviewed the judgment of the Federal High Court delivered on January 21, 2026, against the leadership of Barrister Julius Abure, and unanimously resolved that the ruling contained fundamental errors and should be appealed.
They reaffirmed their total and unwavering support for the leadership of the Labour Party under the National Chairman, Barrister Julius Abure, and the National Secretary, Alhaji Umar Farouk Ibrahim.
The women leaders also resolved to mobilise women across wards, local government areas and states, urging all female members of the party to remain steadfast, united and hopeful despite the current challenge.
“We assure the National Working Committee and the National Executive Council, under the leadership of Barrister Julius Abure and the National Secretary, Alhaji Umar Farouk Ibrahim, of our continued loyalty and readiness to demonstrate solidarity with the party at all times,” they said.
The women leaders further called on party members to remain calm and focused, stressing that the Labour Party has weathered difficult moments in the past and has consistently emerged stronger.
