In a bid to check the increase in maternal mortality rate in Lagos State, the government of the state has constructed a Child Center. The center which has 110-bed spaces is located in Badagry area of Lagos State.

The construction of the Maternal And Child Center is a demonstration of the commitment of the Governor of Lagos State, Mr Jide Sanwo-olu in addressing the menace caused by maternal & child deaths in Lagos.
The Lagos State Ministry of Health while announcing this stated that women and children should not lose their life while facilitating procreation. The ministry stated that the Maternal And Child Center will be commissioned on 11 December 2020, by the Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Sanwo-olu.
According to the Lagos State Ministry of Health, the facility has 110 bed spaces, a reception room, a waiting room for patients, intensive care baby unit, post-natal unit, outpatient consulting room, medical record room, laboratory, pharmacy, family planning clinic, among others.
