The Lagos State Labour Party (LP) has voiced its displeasure with the tribunal’s decision on the governor’s election petition filed on Monday.
This was announced on Tuesday by the party’s State Publicity Secretary, Olubunmi Odesanya, in a statement distributed to the media.
Odesanya, however, urged party members to maintain calm as the party sought justice.

She remarked, “With utmost dismay, we listened to the judgement of the Lagos State election tribunal delivered yesterday, September 25.”
While we plot our next move, we ask that our devoted following maintain a state of serenity.
She stated that the LP candidate in Lagos State, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour (GRV), and the LP in Lagos State were law-abiding citizens who had instructed the party’s legal team to analyse the ruling with an eye towards appealing it at the appellate court.
Odesanya stated that the party was confident it had won the poll despite the abuse its members had received.
This misplaced fairness will be restored in due time.
“Our party will explore all legal means at righting the wrongs done to the majority of Lagos residents,” she declared.
Remember that on Monday the tribunal upheld the March 18 gubernatorial election results, making Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his Deputy, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat.
Both petitions submitted by the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate, Abdul-Azeez Adediran, and the Liberal Party (LP) and led by Mr. Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour were denied by the three-member panel chaired by Justice Arum Ashom in a unanimous ruling.
