The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been ridiculed by former federal lawmaker Shehu Sani for its handling of the party’s leadership issue.
On Saturday, Shehu wrote a post on his social media site in which he compared the PDP’s handling of its leadership crisis to that of the Labour Party, LP.
The social critic alleged that if Labour Party member Lamidi Apapa had been a member of the PDP, he would have been pampered with ice cream.

He claimed that in the PDP, Lamidi would have been showered with ice cream.
According to Infostride News’ reporting, Lamidi Apapa and Julius Abure were engaged in a power struggle within the Labour Party until very recently.
Abure’s disputed removal as party national chairman precipitated the situation.
Justice Hamza Muazu of the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) added a legal twist to the problem when he ordered the party’s chairman and three other members of the national executive to stop representing themselves as national officers of the party.
The leadership dispute inside the Labour Party was resolved recently when the Court of Appeal in Benin City, the capital of Edo State, affirmed Abure as the national chairman.
Rather, the PDP has been under existential threat ever since former Rivers governor Nyesom Wike and four other governors, including certain party leaders, actively worked against the party’s presidential nominee, Atiku Abubakar, both prior to and after the 2023 general election.
Wike has not yet renounced his membership in the PDP, but President Bola Tinubu has appointed him Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT.
