Real Madrid manager, Carlo Ancelotti has come out to claim that it is up to Luka Modric to decide if he wants to continue at the club beyond this season. He recently had his say while speaking to the press, and fans have been reacting.
According to him, it has always been very difficult to bench Modric, not just because of his quality during games, but because of how he trains every day.
Ancelotti added that he will not advise Luka on what to do with his Real Madrid future since he is man enough to make his own decisions.
His words, “We celebrated Luka because he deserved it, he scored a great goal that gave us three points, and he brought a lot more. He had freshness. He shows that it is very difficult to leave him on the bench. Not just because of the goal, but because of how he trains every day.
It’s in Luka’s hands what he wants to do. We have to wait for his decision. Out of respect for him, I can’t give him advice. He knows perfectly well what he has to do. The quality of the minutes is more important than the quantity.”
