Anderlecht’s academy director, Jean Kindermans has come out to share how Romelu Lukaku convinced 15-year-old Jeremy Doku to not join Chelsea. He recently had his say while speaking to the press, and fans have been reacting.
According to him, Lukaku once picked up the phone to call Doku and advised him to commit his long-term to Anderlecht because he would be in good hands.

Jean added that the Belgian even involved the player’s family, and the club is very much grateful.
His words, “I remember taking Romelu into my office about the problem of getting young players to commit to us – Doku in particular. Romelu replied, ‘Come on, pass your phone to me, I’m going to call him’.”
“I still have the video on my phone. On it, you can hear Romelu giving advice to the Doku’s family, saying ‘Hey, guys, stay with Anderlecht for a while, you’re good’ and so on.”
