Newcastle United forward Ayoze Perez has said Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are interested in him, but he intends to stay at St James’ Park.
Perez, 22, signed for Newcastle from Tenerife in 2014 and this season he has impressed, scoring four goals in 15 Premier League appearances.
United and Tottenham could be in the market for attacking recruitments in January, as both sides are short on options beyond Anthony Martial and Wayne Rooney at OldTrafford and Harry Kane at White Hart Lane.
Spanish attacker Perez is quoted by the Manchester Evening News as telling Radio Club Tenerife: “There is truth in the talk about interest in me. It’s rewarding for me.
“There is much truth in the interest from Tottenham and Man United, but my place is at Newcastle.”
Newcastle are currently 17th in the Premier League table and face Everton on Boxing Day.
