Making Calafiori Play Through His Injury Would Have Been Unfair To Arsenal – Gattuso

Arsenal defender Riccardo Calafiori has withdrawn from international duty with Italy due to injury, manager Gennaro Gattuso has confirmed. He recently had his say while speaking to the press, and fans have been reacting.

According to him, playing the defender despite his injuries would have been unfair, so he had to be allowed to leave.

Gattuso added that Calafiori did everything within his power to play, so his commitment is unshaken.

His words, “Calafiori left the training camp.

We tried Calafiori, he had a few issues. I thank him for his commitment: he stayed here for a week, he could have played perhaps, but it wouldn’t have been fair to him or Arsenal. We’ll see who plays between [Gianluca] Mancini and [Alessandro] Buongiorno.”
