Premier League giants, Manchester United, Arsenal and Manchester United have been put on alert as Romelu Lukaku has turned down a new contract from Everton.
Lukaku who has become Everton highest ever Premier League goalscorer has turned down a £130,000 a week contract from the club.
Negotiations over a new contract have been going on since the summer with the striker expected to sign the contract which would have made him the highest paid player in Everton history.
After training at Everton’s Finch Farm base on Tuesday, March 14, the striker, however, inform the club that he won’t be signing a new contract.
Everton have been shocked by the latest revelation as they were confident of securing the striker on a long term contract.
Lukaku’s ambition is to play in the Champions League and compete for trophies with a bigger club and after three years at Everton, the Belgium international feels it’s the perfect time for him to move on.
The 23-year-old left Chelsea in 2013 to join Everton on loan –he signed permanently in 2014- and with Diego Costa’s future uncertain, a return to Stamford Bridge could be on the cards for the striker.
Chelsea were keen to sign the striker who is valued at £65million by Everton last summer although a bid was never made.
Manchester United are also said to be monitoring situation with Zlatan Ibrahimovic reportedly likely for to go for his last big cheque in the MLS.
That move would see him reunite with Jose Mourinho who sanctioned his sale to Everton in 2014 during his time as Chelsea boss.
Arsenal also could be interested as they have been looking to get a top striker for years.
Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus are also interested but it is highly likely that the striker will remain in England.
