Manchester United manager, Erik ten Hag has come out to say that he did not bring Cristiano Ronaldo off the bench during Manchester United’s 6-3 defeat at Manchester City out of respect. He recently had his say while speaking to the press, and fans have been reacting.

According to him, he didn’t feel the need to bring the Portuguese captain on in such a game because he had to respect his huge career and reputation.
Ten Hag added that he also felt then game was right for Antony Martial to get needed minutes.
His words, “I didn’t bring him on out of respect for his big career,”
“And the other thing, there was then the advantage I could bring Antony Martial on. He needs the minutes but I don’t want to point it out like that.”
