Edinson Cavani has hailed fellow Paris Saint-Germain attackers Kylian Mbappe and Neymar but warned that neither him or them should see themselves as “Galacticos.”
After implying that he and Neymar are not friends in the first, Cavani said he enjoys playing alongside the Brazil star and Mbappe, who both arrived at PSG in the summer.
“It gives me great pleasure,” Cavani said. “It is something motivating for us, for the team — playing with top players on a daily basis is motivating.
“However, we should not compare ourselves with other teams, we must concentrate on ourselves instead. We should not see ourselves as fantastic or Galacticos.
“At the end of the day, it is football and we are all important on the pitch. We must play as a team and not listen to what others are saying.”
Mbappe, who joined from Monaco on an initial loan that is set to become a €180 million transfer in the summer, has made an impressive start to life at PSG and opened the scoring in Wednesday’s 4-0 win over Anderlecht.
“For me, he is a top player,” Cavani said. “He possesses incredible qualities that will enable him to get better and better and become one of the best attackers in the world.
“However, it is also important that he is surrounded by people who can give him advice, be positive influences and help him to remain humble. Kylian
