Manchester United manager, Erik ten Hag has come out to explain why he made Scott McTominay captain vs Liverpool. He recently had his say while speaking to the press, and fans have been reacting.
According to him, Scott is a perfect example of what it means to play for Manchester United, and he loves how the Scotland midfielder plays with the badge on his heart in most games.
Erik added that McTominay epitomizes the passion and desire he likes to see in a MUFC player.
His words, “I think he [McTominay] is one of the examples of what it means to play for Manchester United, to play with the badge on his heart. And that is an example. And the others can take that, and so they can build on him.
And I’m sure he will be the communicator. I’m sure he will be the example of desire and passion. And I think especially that you need in this game.”

That triumph allowed the club to compete in the European Super Cup for the first time, where United beat European Cup holders Red Star Belgrade 1–0 at Old Trafford. The club appeared in two consecutive League Cup finals in 1991 and 1992, beating Nottingham Forest 1–0 in the second to win that competition for the first time as well.
