Nollywood actress Yvonne Jegede has blasted Pastor Femi Lazarus, lead pastor of Light Nation Church in Abuja, over his viral remarks about women’s menstrual cycles. Recall that the cleric recently sparked public outrage after a video from one of his sermons surfaced online.
In the video, the pastor suggested that women’s mood swings during menstruation are not caused by biology, but by their attitude.

“You are not the first woman to see your period, so your menstruation is not the problem.
I have never seen anywhere in the Bible any woman complain about menstrual pain.
You are simply not a peaceful person,” he said.
Reacting, Yvonne criticized the preacher’s comment, urging men to stop making assumptions about things they have never experienced.
According to her, seeing the clip of the clergyman trivializing menstrual pain was heartbreaking, and she can only beg the male gender to be kinder towards the opposite sex.
She concluded by saying that only women can truly understand how a menstrual cycle affects their general well-being.
“Yesterday I saw a trending video of a clergyman seemingly trivializing menstrual pain.
If you’ve never experienced the hormonal changes that women go through during their periods, ovulations and pregnancy, please don’t make bold statements about things you haven’t experienced.
Men please be kind,” she wrote.
While several Nigerians agreed with the moviestar, some users defended Pastor Lazarus, claiming his words were taken out of context.
