Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta has come out to say that he thinks Lionel Messi deserved to win his record-eighth Ballon d’Or award. He recently had his say while speaking to the press, and fans have been reacting.
According to him, Messi‘s achievement at the recently concluded World Cup is the reason he deserved the prestigious award, and that moment was the pinnacle of his entire career.

Arteta added that the consistency the Argetine forward has shown over the years has been incredible.
His words, “When you talk about Messi it can never be wrong. What he’s done, he won the World Cup, at his age, it was the pinnacle of his career. It’s just incredible, the consistency that he’s shown, the level that he’s put football into.”
