Barcelona president, Joan Laporta has come out to insist that he wants to see Lionel Messi end his career at the Catalan club. He recently had his say while speaking to the press, and fans have been reacting.
According to him, it is a personal aspiration for him to make Messi finish his football career at the club because his story at Barca did not end as both parties wanted.
Laporta added that their relationship ended conditioned by financial reasons, and that was never an ideal manner.
His words, “It is an aspiration that I have as president and I would like it to happen,”
“I was co-responsible for an ending that I consider provisional. Messi’s story at Barca did not end as we all wanted, it ended conditioned by financial reasons and we have a moral debt to him.”
“In that sense, we would like the end of his career to be with the Barca shirt on, applauded at every stadium he plays at.”
