Senator Abdul’aziz Yari, a former governor of Zamfara State, has claimed that President Bola Tinubu conducted extensive background checks on all of his ministerial choices.
During his remarks, Yari emphasized that the Senate was conducting a careful review of the ministerial nominees.
After visiting Vice President Kashim Shettima at the Presidential Villa on Tuesday in Abuja, Yari fielded questions from reporters outside. He reiterated that Tinubu had not erred in his nominations.

Yari claims that the Senate has “strong confidence” that Tinubu has checked out the backgrounds of everyone he’s hired.
Therefore, we are making every effort to guarantee that the nominees are extensively questioned to Nigerians’ satisfaction.
The ministerial nominees Tinubu sent to the Senate last week are currently undergoing confirmation hearings.
The Senate has conducted preliminary interviews with high-profile candidates such as Nasir El-Rufai, Wale Edun, Dave Umahi, Nyesom Wike, and Betta Edu.
