Manchester United manager, Ruud van Nistelrooy has come out to say that he was not the main reason MUFC’s luck turned vs Leicester City in the Carabao Cup. He recently had his say while speaking to the press, and fans have been reacting.
According to him, even if he is very happy for players like Casemiro, Garnacho and Bruno Fernandes, the team created as much chances vs West Ham and Fenerbahce, but the goals just didn’t go in.
Ruud added that luck eventually smiled on the club and that made it a great night in the Carabao Cup.
His words, “I have to say we had some luck as well, I am so happy for Casemiro though and [Alejandro] Garnacho and Bruno [Fernandes]. Five goals but the chances against West Ham and Fenerbahce, we created so much and couldn’t finish., All of a sudden we had some luck on our side and that made it a great night.
It is always the target to react and attack. The reaction of players after the Leicester goals were excellent and they deserve the credit. I am glad the crowd go home happy.”

The club appeared in two consecutive League Cup finals in 1991 and 1992, beating Nottingham Forest 1–0 in the second to win that competition for the first time as well.
