Popular Hollywood actress Scarlett Johansson has said that her relationship with her husband Colin Jost got off to a weird start. She recently revealed why her hubby did not think they were meant to be after their first date.
Speaking during a new episode of “Today with Jenna & Friends,” Scarlett shared that men rarely asked her out before she met Colin.
According to her, after he asked her out on a date back in 2017, things started off alright at first, only for her to turn down his invitation to grab a drink, leading Colin to believe she did not see a future with him.
The moviestar stated that arriving home early from her date even shocked her babysitter,who expected her to come back late.
“My first date with Colin, honestly, nobody ever really asked me out before. I’m telling you. People say that, but it’s true. I was a serial monogamist and I just never got the traditional, ‘Hey, would you like to have dinner sometime?’
We went to an Italian restaurant in the East Village. It was a lovely date. We had dinner at 8 p.m. or whatever, and then afterwards, he was like, ‘I’m meeting friends, let’s go grab a drink.’ And I hadn’t dated basically ever, and so I was like, ‘I have to go now. I need to leave.’
I got home to relieve my babysitter and it was like 9:36, and she was like, ‘Why are you home?!’ I was like, ‘I went on this date, and it was.…’ I just felt so flustered,” she said.
Johansson further noted that her husband eventually told her that he genuinely believed her behaviour meant she was not interested in him.
She concluded by saying that looking back now, she can see how she almost lost a good man because she wouldn’t stop panicking.
“Later on he was like, ‘I totally thought that was it. You were acting so weird,’ I panicked. I don’t know,” she added.
