Manchester City midfielder Rodri has spoken up following a controversial interview in which he appeared to leave the door open for a move to Real Madrid. Recall that the Ballon d’Or winner’s admission that one “cannot turn down the best clubs in the world” led to accusations of disloyalty from fans online.
Reacting, the Spaniard insisted that his words were stripped of their vital context, and the interview is available to anyone who wants to listen to it in its entirety.
Rodri added that he is used to his words being misconstrued, so he has nothing more to say.
His words, “I’m used to it. If they cut out what they want from a 50-minute interview… in the end, I don’t have much more to say. I’m a person who speaks frankly. The interview is available if you want to listen to it in its entirety and not just excerpts.”
