The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control has announced that it has been informed that the Malaysian National Pharmaceutical Regulatory Agency has placed a restriction on the use of BB Glow Soul Cream.

NAFDAC stated that the cream contains hydroquinone (a skin toning agent) and tretinoin which are dangerous to health, and capable to cause adverse effects like reddish skin color, hypersensitivity of the skin as well as increase the risk of skin cancer.
According to NAFDAC Hydroquinone exposes the skin protection to harmful Ultra Violet rays of the sun and may increase the risk of getting skin cancer.
NAFDAC further stated that the use of tretinoin without supervision can cause skin problems like , peeling of the skin, skin pains and hypersensitivity to sunlight.
NAFDAC has therefore urged importers, distributors and retailers to discontinue the importation, distribution and sale of BB Glow Soul Cream.
Members of the public who still have the cosmetic product in stock or in custody have been implored to submit them to the nearest NAFDAC office. People are also advised to report any adverse effect recorded from the use of the cosmetic product to the nearest NAFDAC office.
