Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governors have warned President Bola Ahmed Tinubu against going to war with the coup leaders in Niger, urging him instead to employ diplomacy and negotiation.
The forum’s press secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou, released a statement on Saturday quoting the meeting’s participants as saying as much.
Bala Mohammed, head of the PDP Governors’ Forum, was quoted as saying, “There will be zero tolerance for anti-party activities and process,” reinforcing the need of maintaining party discipline.

He said the PDP still places a premium on unity and loyalty, and that he was committed to repositioning and stabilising the party.
The summit also assured the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, that the party will do everything within its legal power to help him recover his stolen mandate in the tribunal.
The governors committed to collaborating with the party at the state and federal levels to promote openness, honesty, and responsibility in government.
