Biafran separatist and activist Simon Ekpa has sounded the alarm that Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) leader Nnamdi Kanu is in a life-threatening condition in prison.
Since his arrest in Kenya in June 2021 and extradition to Nigeria to face prosecution for treasonable felony, Kanu has been held at the facility of Nigeria’s secret police, DSS, despite the Court of Appeal having freed the IPOB leader from terrorism and treasonable felony charges the previous year.
The separatist leader’s health is failing, according to Ekpa, a self-proclaimed disciple of Kanu, who emphasised that he may die in DSS arrest if immediate action is not taken.

In the event that something were to happen to Kanu, he promised that those responsible will face consequences.
Early on Saturday, he tweeted under his username, “BRGIE @BiafraRGIE.” Warning: Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is critically ill and could die in DSS if he is not released immediately. I regret to inform you Biafrans that Onyendu is currently in critical condition. He’s in the worst shape imaginable. If MNK does pass away in DSS, everyone should know that they will not get away with what they did.
