The South West chapter of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has advised Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State to refrain from squandering taxpayers’ money in combatting opposition figures in the state.
Instead, the party urged the governor to concentrate on enhancing the socio-economic welfare of the state.
Dr. Babatunde Oke, the South West Secretary of the party, made this statement in a press release issued on Saturday in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo state.

Oke called on Governor Abiodun to channel his efforts towards initiatives that can lift Ogun State out of years of socio-economic stagnation.
The statement expressed concern over the alleged involvement of Governor Abiodun in the invasion of the NNPP’s state secretariat located in Abeokuta by security agents.
Oke lamented the perceived suppression of the party’s right to hold legitimate meetings, citing instances where complaints lodged with the state police and the Department of State Services (DSS) were allegedly ignored.
“It was reliably gathered that Ogun State governor is behind the invasion of our party’s state secretariat,” Oke stated.
“No soothsayer is needed to know that the security agents are acting the script of Governor Dapo Abiodun.”
The NNPP representative further called on President Muhammadu Buhari, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Inspector General of Police, and the Director General of the DSS to intervene and ensure that security agencies provide adequate security for all parties in Ogun State without being influenced by Governor Abiodun or his associates.
The NNPP’s stance underscores the need for political leaders to prioritize governance and development over partisan interests, emphasizing the importance of upholding democratic principles and the rule of law.
