The North-Central APC Forum has announced the end of its agitation over the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC), following the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting held at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja on Wednesday.
The NEC ratified the zoning of the APC national chairmanship to the North-West, solidifying Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje’s position as party chairman.
The forum had previously contested this decision, advocating for the North-Central to complete the tenure of former chairman Abdullahi Adamu, who was removed before completing his term.

In a statement issued on Thursday, the Chairman of the North-Central APC Forum, Alhaji Saleh Zazzaga, affirmed the forum’s acceptance of the NEC’s decision and its alignment with the party’s leadership.
“As loyal party members interested in the progress of the APC, we agree with all the decisions taken at the NEC meeting.
We endorse the vote of confidence passed on President Bola Tinubu and the national chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje,” the statement read.
The forum also declared support for the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, as the leader of the party in the North-Central. It called for unity among party members and urged support for President Tinubu’s policies and future elections.
Additionally, the forum pledged to assist Ganduje in reconciling aggrieved party members and called for peace between the Government of Benue State, led by Governor Hyacinth Alia, and Senator Akume.
“We urge the Government of Benue State to respect the authority of the SGF, Senator George Akume, as the leader of the party in the North-Central,” the statement added.
At the NEC meeting, President Tinubu had tasked the Ganduje-led National Working Committee (NWC) with fostering reconciliation among party members.
With the North-Central APC Forum now aligning with the party leadership, the APC aims to strengthen internal unity ahead of future political engagements.
