The Premier League have released a shortlist of eight for the Player of the Year award.
This award is different from the PFA (Professional Footballers’ Association) Player of the Year and the FWA (Football Writers Association) Player of the Year.
Chelsea midfielder Ngolo Kante has already claimed both awards and is favourite for the Premier League Player of the Year.
Kante leads the shortlist for the award with teammates Eden Hazard and full-back Cesar Azpilicueta.
Tottenham have three players in the shortlist, Harry Kane, Dele Alli and defender Jan Vertonghen.
The trio has been fantastic for Tottenham this season which saw them finish second, their highest league finish in their history.
Alexis Sanchez is the only Arsenal player in the list, having scored 21 Premier League goals so far (the first Arsenal striker to hit 20 league goals since 2012).
Also in the list is Everton’s Romelu Lukaku, who is currently the leading goalscorer in the Premier League with 24 goals.
The winner will be decided by fans votes combined with votes from a panel of football experts.
