On Friday, the Lagos Division of the Court of Appeal reversed the decision made by the National Assembly Election Petitions Tribunal in Umuahia.
That decision had invalidated the election of the individual who is currently serving as the member representing the Isikwuato Umunneochi Federal Constituency in Abia State, Hon. Amobi Ogah.
Nkiruka Onyejeocha, the candidate for the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the current Minister of State for Labour, was declared the victor of the election by the tribunal in a ruling issued in September.

The panel had previously declared Ogah’s election to be invalid.
Ogah went to the Court of Appeal to appeal the ruling that had been rendered.
In its ruling, the Appeal Court reversed the decision that had been made by the lower court.
The decision of the lower court was overturned because the appeal of the Labour Party candidate was upheld by the appellate court, which stated that the appeal had valid grounds and should be permitted.
