Concerning the illegal primary elections conducted last Monday 17th October 2022 by Mr Jimi Lawal and other dissident party members loyal to him, more revelations have emerged on their conspiracy and plot to plunge the party into more crisis in the State.

Given this, the Ogun State Executive Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party held a special State Council meeting on Sunday 23rd October 2022 at the party’s Secretariat, Abeokuta.
The meeting was presided over by the Vice Chairman, Ogun East, Arc. Kayode Adebayo unanimously approved the immediate suspension of three executive members from the party.
The suspended executive members are:
1. Otunba Cornelius Ojoye, Chairman, Odogbolu Local Government.
2. Miss Fatimo Sobanire (Irorun), an Ex-Officio member
3. Mrs Nike Asorona, Women Leader, Ogun East Senatorial District.
According to the press release by the State Publicity Secretary, Asiwaju Akinloye Bankole, the above-mentioned executive members were suspended for gross misconduct, for participating in and encouraging anti-party activities, disobeying the party’s directive, abuse of office and acting in manners capable of threatening the general wellbeing of the party among others. Therefore, they are to proceed on immediate suspension for the next 30 days, while they and others earlier suspended are to appear before the party’s standing disciplinary committee.
