Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide has announced that it will be meeting with President Bola Tinubu to advocate for Nnamdi Kanu’s release from prison.
On Saturday, Ohanaeze President Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu paid a courtesy visit to HRM Eze Iheanyichukwu Nwokenna of Abia State and the Southeast chapter of the Supreme Council of Nigeria Traditional Rulers at his office in Glass House Orji-Owerri.
He explained that the purpose of the scheduled visit to the president is to discuss any concerns the people of the South East region may have.

Iwuanyanwu claimed that the deteriorating security scenario in the region necessitated his efforts to have the secessionist released from DSS detention.
He claims that certain people are taking advantage of Kanu’s imprisonment and notoriety to commit crimes in the area for their own gain.
To quote the letter, “Your request (Supreme Council of Nigeria Traditional Rulers, South East chapter) and solidarity visit have reenergized my leadership desire to see President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on matters impacting the Igbo ethnic community, more specifically the need to release Mazi Nnamdi Kanu of IPOB. Uncertainty in the Southeast is growing as a result of his continued imprisonment.
Let’s see if any troublemakers in Igboland try to capitalise on his arrest or name once he’s freed.
Some individuals and organisations are illegally capitalising on his fame and detention to sow discord and disruption across the entire Southeast in service of their own narrow goals. Igboland has to be at peace and stable.
When asked what would bring back sanity, he answered, “The immediate release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.”
