The Ondo Elite Group has issued a stern warning against any attempts to disrupt the political stability in Ondo State, emphasizing that such actions could have severe repercussions for the party in the upcoming November 16 governorship election.
According to the socio-political group, there is a growing tension within the state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) due to alleged efforts by certain factions to remove and replace the current party leadership with the aim of influencing the outcome of the forthcoming poll in favor of their preferred candidate.
In a statement signed by its General Secretary, Yemi Oladiran, the group expressed its apprehension about the situation and called on the new governor of the state, Lucky Ayedatiwa, to prioritize unity and inclusivity among party stakeholders.

The group cautioned against any external interference in the internal affairs of the APC, asserting that those behind the alleged move to dissolve the party’s executive committee lacked the authority to carry out such an action.
Oladiran emphasized that such actions could not only create divisions within the party but also diminish its prospects of success in the upcoming election.
He cited the example of the setbacks experienced by the APC in Zamfara during the last general election, which the group is determined to avoid in Ondo State.
Furthermore, the Ondo Elite Group warned against instigating a crisis where none exists, urging the state governor to foster unity within the party to prevent losing the state to the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the forthcoming polls.
The statement highlighted the potential consequences of dissolving the state executive of the APC, noting that it would contravene the agreement Governor Lucky Ayedatiwa had reached with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during the state’s previous crisis involving the late Governor Rotimi Akeredolu.
The group praised the leadership of the state chairman, Ade Adetimehin, for his efforts in stabilizing the party and called for solidarity within the APC as the state prepares for the upcoming election.
