The Nigeria Police Force has deployed drones for surveillance during the Ondo State governorship election scheduled for Saturday.
The FCT Commissioner of Police, Tunji Disu, who heads the police monitoring team, oversaw the preparation of the drone deployment team on Friday to enhance security monitoring during the exercise.
In addition, security agencies have pledged their cooperation with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to ensure a smooth and peaceful election.

Reports indicate that a total of 43,157 security personnel have been deployed for the exercise, with the police accounting for 34,657 officers.
These personnel will be stationed at polling units, wards, local government collation centers, and other strategic locations.
According to the deployment plan, four police officers will be assigned to each polling unit, ensuring adequate security throughout the voting process.
The deployment underscores the commitment of law enforcement agencies to maintaining order and protecting voters and electoral officials during the off-cycle election.
