BBC News Pidgin is insisting that the reason it gave for the arrest of controversial social media critic, VeryDarkMan, by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), was correct. Recall that on Monday, the platform quoted EFCC spokesperson, Dele Oyewale as saying VDM was arrested after several petitions were filed against him, and he’ll be released as soon as he meets the bail conditions, before the case is taken to court.
Doubling down on its report BBC News revealed that its story was the true fact of the matter, and they stand by their factual journalism.

BBC Pidgin News added that the stories it shares have always adhered to the utmost editorial standards, so they follow due process.
It read, “BBC stand gidigba for we journalism and di facts wey we report for dis tori.
We dey committed to impartiality, independent tori and we go kontinu to dey tok truth witout fear or favour.
Tori wey we dey tell around di world dey guided by public interest and we dey folow highest editorial standards.”
WOW.
