Bode George, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has revealed that the party is actively engaged in reconciling its members, including the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.
George emphasized the PDP’s commitment to reconciliation, stating that the party aims to resolve all grievances internally without resorting to public confrontations.
Wike had clashed with the PDP leadership during the 2023 presidential election when he and his G-5 group opted to support presidential candidates other than the PDP’s nominee, Atiku Abubakar. This decision led to a significant rift within the party, resulting in the removal of former National Chairman Iyorchia Ayu.

Despite serving in the All Progressives Congress (APC) government, Wike recently attended a PDP National Executive Council (NEC) meeting, raising questions about his allegiance.
George, speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today, revealed that the party has established a standing committee to address internal issues, including a post-mortem analysis of past events.
“We don’t want to start firing because there are one or two people that are still thinking about the past.
The party must move on,” George stated, highlighting the importance of resolving internal matters without public discord.
He emphasized the need to address internal party issues internally, stating, “It is an issue in the party. It should not be resolved in the marketplace. We are going to settle our own matters like a family.”
