The Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has pointed fingers at the President Bola Tinubu-led administration for the prevalent killings, banditry, kidnappings, and terrorism in Nigeria.
In a communiqué released after a meeting in Abuja, the PDP BoT criticized the “laid-back attitude” of the Tinubu-led administration, holding it responsible for the worsening insecurity witnessed in the last nine months.
The party expressed deep concern over the deteriorating security situation, citing rising cases of mass killings, banditry, kidnapping for ransom, and acts of terrorism.

The BoT highlighted the lack of concrete and coherent policies from the APC administration to address these issues, describing the situation as “unbearable.”
The communiqué also noted the adverse effects of insecurity on the economy, with nearly 30 per cent inflation, a 41 per cent unemployment rate, and a 46 per cent poverty rate leading to increased hardship for citizens.
The PDP’s BoT warned that the current economic and security challenges have left Nigerians feeling hopeless and angry, posing a serious threat to the country’s survival.
The party highlighted an exodus of young Nigerians, professionals, and multinational companies, further exacerbating the nation’s challenges.
